The Baroque Palazzo Barberini, the home of the National Gallery of Antique Art, was designed by Maderno, Borromini and Bernini for Urban VIII and has been owned by the State since 1949. The Gallery contains over 200 works, beginning with a 12th-century \'Madonna Avvocata\' from the Roman school and including Nicolň di Pietro\'s \'Coronation of Mary\', Filippo Lippi\'s, \'Madonna and Child\', Perugin\'s, Raphael\'s portrait \'La Fornarina\', Lorenzo Lotto\'s \'Mystical Marriage of St. Catherine\', El Greco\'s \'Adoration of the Shepherds\' and \'Baptism of Christ\', Titian\'s and \'Venus.
